Jesús Carlos Samudio Martínez
His fishing experience dates back to 1980 since he started working on shrimp boats as crew assistant until becoming a machinist. In the last decade he has served as a leader and director of fishing cooperatives of the Upper Gulf of California, and currently is a founding member at Pesca ABC, where he is Chairman of the Board of Directors.
José Luis Albañez Mendoza
Started fishing at age 18, until he joined a fishing cooperative in 1989. He is originally from the port of San Felipe, a founding member of Pesca ABC, and an expert in manufacturing and development of fishing technologies. His contributions have enabled the creation of more efficient fishing gear for shrimp fishing and other commercial fish. Committed to the vaquita conservation and the marine resources, he decided to become a responsible fisherman in 2009.
Antonio García Orozco
He started working in fisheries in 1983 but his experience with fishing gear dates back to 1978. Antonio has received training related to fishing gear development and maintenance in Guaymas, Mississippi and North Carolina. He is a pioneer in the conversion to sustainable fishing, founding member of Pesca ABC and one of the leaders of the organization.
José Luis Romero González
Born in San Felipe and a fisherman since 1975. It is one of the pioneers in the use of fishing gear that do not harm the vaquita. A convinced fisherman, holding the record for largest catches of blue shrimp with selective fishing gear. He has worked as an instructor and observer in fishing gear tests carried out by the authorities. He is a founding member of Pesca ABC and a key reference when comes to the use of small-scale trawls nets.
